Where is Cable Beach Nassau?
A few miles west of Nassau, the Bahamas capital, on the island of New Providence is Cable Beach Nassau, covering two and a half miles of gorgeous beachy coastline with a mix of first-class or luxury resorts and hotels, a top tier golf course, nightlife for all party-goers, and the largest casino in the country.
How to Get to Cable Beach Nassau
Any day trip to Nassau will give you the whole day to explore Cable Beach Nassau if you so choose. The great thing about Nassau is its location relative to many excellent beaches, including one of the best beaches in Nassau, Cable Beach.
History of Cable Beach Nassau
Check out any travel publication from the 1940s or 50s and you will notice that Cable Beach and Nassau were at the epicenter of Bahamas tourism. This was before there was ever a need or desire to travel anywhere else, like Paradise Island, in the Bahamas.
Tourism was new and only accessible to the rich and famous. The age of being jet-set in the 40s was much different than it is now. However, now, with the proximity to America, the Bahamas is an affordable destination for many more people.
And, with the introduction of day tours by air to the Exuma Cays, much more of the Bahamas is accessible to the everyday tourist. Instead of herding yourself into Cable Beach or any of the paradisaical beaches near Nassau, why don’t you escape the rush and find yourself on a day tour to the out islands of the Bahamas.

Where did the name ‘Cable Beach’ come from?
The name ‘Cable Beach’ is said to have come from the fact that this was the spot where the first submarine cable link was made coming from Florida. Cable Beach, at nearly four miles long, is the longest stretch of beach on the island which made it an easy choice for a submarine docking spot.
