For domestic travel within the Bahamas from Nassau, including the Nassau to Exuma Day Trip or Charter Flight:
NOTE: You may already have an International Health Visa and a RT-PCR test for your international arrival into the Bahamas. The International Health Visa is NOT valid for domestic travel, you must apply separately for the Domestic Health Visa. Your RT-PCR for international arrival may expire before your domestic travel date (as they are only valid for 5 days), therefore you would need a second RT-PCR test with 5 days validity to cover the date of your day trip. RT-PCR tests in Nassau can be expensive, therefore if you can get another test in your country of departure for free or lower cost, it would be best advised to take an additional test to cover the validity of your domestic travel before departing on your vacation.
NOTE: Out Island to Out Island travel (charter flights), that do not go via Nassau, do not require the RT-PCR Test requirement, only a valid Domestic Health Visa. Persons travelling inter-island from Nassau & Paradise Island, Harbour Island*, Eleuthera* or Grand Bahama Island to other islands are required to undergo a RT-PCR test no more than five (5) days prior to travel and produce a negative result.
*New emergency powers announced 4/1/2021 for Harbour Island & Eleuthera. Link here.

If you are in the USA, anyone (irrespective of residency) can get a FREE test through the government appointed Curative Labs . Curative Labs offer RTq-PCR which is a valid RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription PCR) test for travel to and within the Bahamas. They offer pre-bookable drive thru and walk-in appointments. Test results are emailed approximately 24 hours after the test.
You may be able to get RT-PCR tests through your health insurance. There are many private clinics in the US offering testing but it is critical to confirm they offer you the RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription PCR) test and not a PCR, Rapid Test or Antigen Test.
RT-PCR is a lab processed test that can take 24 hours to process, same day rush results are possible.
NOTE: Lab facility where RT-PCR test was performed must be accredited. Only results from accredited labs are accepted. For U.S. travellers, an accredited lab can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/clia/LabSearch.html
Here is a suggested process for Miami to Bahamas Day Trip that allows one test to be taken to cover both Bahamas and US re-entry (but we cannot take responsibility if test or visas are not delivered in time).
Bahamas International Health Visa Process

The Bahamas has remained diligent in its efforts to minimize the spread of COVID-19 throughout the islands, and these measures are imperative to ensure that remains the case. The health and wellbeing of both residents and visitors remain the number one priority of public health officials. It is important to note, however, that due to fluidity of the COVID-19 situation, both in The Bahamas and worldwide, protocols are subject to change.
Below is the most recent synopsis:
Prior to Travel:
1. COVID-19 RT-PCR Test
2. Bahamas Health Travel Visa & Fees
Domestic Travel (within The Bahamas):
International Travel:
Upon Arrival
1. Comply with Monitoring Protocols:
2. Rapid COVID-19 Antigen Testing (if applicable):
Notwithstanding any health restrictions that may be implemented from time to time, all travelers abiding by these new protocols will be permitted to move about and explore the beauty and vibrant culture of The Bahamas beyond the confines of their hotel or other accommodations.
The cost of the rapid tests on and after arrival will be included in the cost of the visa.
The rapid tests are easy, quick and will yield results in 20 minutes or less with results being provided electronically.
Many hotel properties will provide relevant information on testing arrangements, while others will facilitate the required rapid test for their guests.
All persons on yachts and other pleasure craft will be able to make arrangements for their required rapid tests at the port of entry or via the relevant website.
All other visitors, returning residents and citizens will be able to make arrangements for their required rapid tests at the port of entry or via the relevant website.
