What to do in Elbow Cay Abaco
Below are some of the many options for activities you have on your weekend getaway to Elbow Cay Bahamas.
Hope Town Lighthouse
As mentioned, the Hope Town Lighthouse is, perhaps, the most notable. The candy cane-looking structure is one of the only lighthouses in the Caribbean still operated manually. You can hike to the top of it — it is not too enclosed. However, the stairs to the observation deck at the top are steep and could be scary for smaller children.

Wyannie Malone Historical Museum
This is the best place on the island to catch a little of the history of Hope Town and the Abaco Islands. It features a recently renovated home in the typical style which Hope Town and Harbour Island are known for. Spend an hour or two checking out this precious museum.
Hope Town Canvas
A unique artisan store selling products made from recycled sails of the Bahamas. Most notably, the store sells things like handbags, beach totes, backpacks, and more. Hope Town Canvas also rents bikes.
Deep Sea Fishing
Near Elbow Cay Bahamas, you can usually find Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Blackfin tuna, and even dolphin. Typically, a visitor can choose between a half day rental or a full day rental. It is best to go with a local who can put you on top of the fish and where they like to feed. If you are lucky, your local guide will also be able to shed some history information on Elbow Cay Abaco.
Tahiti Beach
Hiding in the southwestern tip of the island is a fantastic beach, often empty or not crowded. There is beautiful blue and shallow water alike. Thirsty Cudas is a unique boat bar which brings the drinks and snacks to you. Simply wade in the water out to their boat and choose what you would like to order.

Dive/Snorkel Abaco
At over 130 miles in length, the Abaco reef is the third largest barrier reef in the world. Thanks to the increasing amount of dive shops on Elbow Cay, those divers who come to Elbow Cay will be rewarded with diving along this reef.
For those who haven’t dived before, Elbow Cay Bahamas is the perfect place to start. A typical beginners course (PADI Open Water Diving Course) will give you all the information you need to end up at the reef for your first real dive. Don’t miss out on this diving haven while you are visiting.
Sail the Abacos
This is a great activity to do with the whole family. Charter a sailboat for a half-day or full day and let the local captain show you around the nearby cays. Throughout the day, you will stop for snorkeling, traditional food, and whatever else you desire.
Rent Bikes (The Bike Shop)
Though often golf carts are the preferred mode of transportation, some people choose to ride bicycles around the island. This is great for anyone who is not in a rush who want a better understanding of the Elbow Cay Bahamas environment.
