Picture yourself ankle deep in warm white sand, on a beautifully excluded beach with nothing but fun things to do in Harbour Island, sipping a pina colada in one of the exotic Harbour Island Bahamas Resorts, with your only job being to find a great sunset spot. You sprawl out on your sunbathing bed and lather up one more layer of suntan lotion. You are not moving the rest of the afternoon and it is decided. You close your eyes and listen to the tide roll into Harbor Island Bahamas and slowly fade into a light sleep. Life is good, everything is good in the beautiful Bahamas.
You can take a flight to Harbour Island with the Harbour Island Day Trip from Nassau or any number of day trip to Exumas with Bahamas Air Tours which will take you anywhere accessible in the region, including showing you the best things to do in Harbor Island when you arrive.
Below we have outlined a few of the most popular things to do in Harbor Island, but you must let our guides show you the real gems of the island once you get there!

1. Pink Sands Beach
This beach, which is renown for being exactly what its name suggests (a beach with pink sand), is the most famous attraction on the island. Hundreds of people per day make their way to Harbor Island Bahamas which is just a short 55 miles from Nassau. It is one of the most popular things to do in Harbour Island.
As Pink Sands Beach has gradually grabbed the attention of Instagram users around the world, it has built an impressive resume of travelers on its beaches. From A-list celebrities to regular everyday vacationers to some of the richest people in the world, many people have walked along these pink beaches and basked in the Bahamas sun.
It is not as secluded as it used to be, but if you walk the entire length of the beach, you will surely find your own paradise. It can take up to an hour and a half to walk the length of the beach which will also serve as great exercise on your vacation. . . if that is what you are into.

2. Briland’s Blue Hole
Scuba diving in Harbor Island Bahamas isn’t necessarily known as one of the top things to do in Harbour Island, however, Briland’s Blue Hole deserves all the credit it doesn’t receive. It is the perfect spot for adrenaline seekers of the island and also a good taste of other diving opportunities which the Bahamas has to offer.
Briland’s Blue Hole is an underwater cave which can only be explored with scuba diving gear. You can free dive, but certainly won’t be able to explore as thoroughly as scuba divers.
There are also spots around Briland’s Blue Hole where it is possible to experience nice corals right off the shore of Harbour Island. This is perfect for snorkeling as well as beginners to the diving scene.
3. Nassau to Staniel Cay Day Tour
The Exumas are one of the most secluded pieces of the Bahamas archipelago. There are many people who believe the Bahamas’ best nature and landscapes can be found in the Exumas. It would be a shame if you weren’t able to take a swimming pigs tour to see the Exuma pigs in the Bahamas at Big Major Cay (Pig Island).
From Harbour Island, you would need to travel to Nassau and hop on one of the Staniel Cay Day trips (even aboard a Bahamas air charter). From Staniel Cay, Big Major Cay is only a short 10-minute boat ride.
Though Harbour Island isn’t in the Exumas, a day trip to Exumas is still one of the top things to do in Harbour Island.
The famous pigs aren’t the only thing to do around the Exumas. In the area of Big Major Cay, make sure you check out the Staniel Cay Yacht Club, Thunderball Grotto, Bitter Guana Cay, and more!
Staniel Cay is one of the most often visited places in the Exumas but don’t get it twisted; this place can be every bit as secluded as some of the more remote out islands of the Exumas. There are a few shops and restaurants, a few hotels and resorts, and a famous marina, but other than that, the place is pretty quiet.

The “Lone Tree” is a popular attraction of Eleuthera Bahamas.
4. Dunmore Town
Dunmore Town, of all things to do in Harbour Island, might be the most popular among tourists. That is because all the action on the island occurs in this colorful, happy neighborhood. And Dunmore Town is the original capital of the Bahamas.
It is a town set behind a white (pink) sand beach with turquoise water as advertised. The beach is classified as a pink sand beach, however, that may be a stretch. Regardless, the beach is one of the few which are kept immaculately clean for tourists. While other beaches on Harbour Island may have to deal with seaweed, the Dunmore Town Beach is usually kept clear.
Dunmore Town is also home to many of the Harbour Island Bahamas resorts which is why it is one of the busiest places on the island.

5. Princess Street Gallery
The Princess Street Gallery is an excellent place to pick up some local art and culture in Harbour Island Bahamas.
It is the perfect place to park your golf cart (which is the transportation mode of choice in Harbour Island) after driving around in the sun all morning. Get indoors to escape the heat for a little bit inside. It is a large art gallery with ample space, displaying artists’ works from the island and surrounding cays.
There is much diversity in the works of art ranging from personalized jewelry to photography, portraits, and paintings. It is certainly one of the best things to do in Harbour Island Bahamas because it allows for a break from the hot sun and educates every visitor who stops by.
